About the role

  • Support the global development of one of our new Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster) for all relevant vehicle projects globally
  • Develop and document feature and technical concepts while focusing on Regulatory requirements (e.g. country certification)
  • Diagnostics requirements
  • Functional safety requirements
  • Technical limitations
  • Support alignment with global, internal and external partners and stakeholders (e.g. feature owners, implementation teams, supplier, projects)
  • Review and control issue inflow submitted by all global test instances (e.g. vehicle testing)
  • Support with pre-analysis of defects
  • Set and enforce software quality standards together with the software architects
  • Develop a holistic testing strategy for the component and align it with the development teams, HiL and vehicle testing teams
  • Support on-truck and test bench testing
  • Develop, build and maintain test benches and write test cases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of commercial vehicles and their functionalities
  • Strong background in ECU development and testing incl. processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Proficient with tools such as Vector suite, Monaco, DiagnosticLink, Jira, Confluence, ecu.test
  • Expertise in project management
  • Experience with automotive development processes, preferably with Daimler Truck
  • Understanding of engineering processes and downstream impacts
  • Strong skills in communication and team coordination across global teams (considering different cultural backgrounds) especially with the US, Germany, and India
  • Analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented, reliable, pro-active and self-motivated
  • Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
