• Working closely with management, colleagues and the relevant HR Business Partner to advise on a range of employee relations issues, including but not limited to:
• Providing proactive, consistent and commercially focussed advice and coaching support to develop manager capability, drive a culture of high performance and encourage colleague engagement and well-being.
• Case management to drive the resolution of performance, probation, attendance, disciplinary and grievance issues, ranging from informal discussions, to formal investigations, formal hearings and appeal stages.
• Advising the business and relevant HR Business Partners on the design and end to end implementation of change programmes (e.g. TUPE and redundancies).
• Supporting managers to deal with, or when particularly sensitive sometimes directly manage, complex and long term absence cases.
• Involvement in resolving more complex queries (e.g. benefits, maternity, absence or policy related) which are escalated from the HR Operations Team
• Providing consistent and commercially focussed advice to line managers and colleagues in HR around Employee Relations issues.
• Advising managers and colleagues on the Firm’s HR policies and employment best practice as they apply to day to day management of colleagues.
• Providing guidance around the Flex Forward approach to working and managing the formal flexible working application process.
• Supporting the ER Lead and other HR colleagues in relevant project work and initiatives, for example involvement in ensuring ER policies are relevant for changing business needs.
• Analyse ER data to identify recurring trends and themes and derive insights that help shape relevant programmes and interventions.
• Keeping up to-date in changing employment law landscape and conducting ER training as part of the Learning & Development offering as necessary.
• Dealing with ad-hoc or regular reports, including appropriate analysis of information where required.
• Develop, review, and update HR policies and procedures to reflect current legislation, best practices, and organisational needs.
• Ensure consistent application and understanding of HR policies across the organisation through clear documentation, advice and communication.

Employee Relations, Policy Advisor

Legal Assistant

• Provide excellent standard of secretarial support to the commercial disputes team
• Provide support across other practice groups as required
• Act as a point of contact for lawyers and ensure effective completion of their work
• Undertake a variety of secretarial tasks including managing emails, document preparation, and client communications
• Maintain a high quality, comprehensive workflow management and organizational service to lawyers in the group
• Assist with planning and booking of travel arrangements and ad-hoc business development activities
• Handle outgoing correspondence and ensure confidential information is managed in line with data security protocols

Legal Secretary – Commercial Litigation

Attorney

• Managing your own caseload of multi-track recovery claims, from initial investigation through to settlement, mediation or trial.
• Investigating liability in relation to a wide range of property damage incidents, including high value escapes of water, fire, flood, oil spills, impact damage, construction-related losses and other complex recovery matters.
• Conducting detailed liability, causation and quantum investigations, including analysis of technical and expert evidence.
• Obtaining witness statements, securing key documentary evidence and liaising with insureds, brokers, loss adjusters, experts and third parties.
• Drafting pre-action correspondence, Letters of Claim, pleadings and other court documentation.
• Progressing claims through the litigation process, including disclosure, witness evidence, expert instruction, settlement negotiations and Trial preparation.
• Negotiating settlements and maximising recoveries on behalf of insurer clients.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, Counsel, forensic experts and industry-leading clients on technically challenging matters.
• Contributing to client relationship management, business development and marketing initiatives to support the continued growth of the practice.

Paralegal

• The Paralegal opportunity is an varied role working across the national Real Estate group but predominantly serving our telecoms operator clients. You will have the opportunity to manage your own files and interact with clients.
• As a Paralegal, your work will include the preparation of title and lease reports, drafting and negotiation of leases, agreements and deeds as well as general assistance to fee earners on a variety of client matters and general support.

Paralegal, Property Litigation – Real Estate

Associate

• Work closely with the seniors in the team having responsibility for key tasks in large scale or high value projects, as well as generally supporting the wider transaction.
• Where appropriate, lead on transactions (following training and supervision) and act as primary contact for clients on a day to day basis providing them with commercially focused legal advice.
• Work closely to client protocols and processes.
• Comply with the required standards for file opening, conflict management, and financial management of files, billing regimes etc. as well as the specific reporting or other management requirements of individual clients.

• Deal with a wide range corporate transactions for a broad array of clients
• Act as first and primary contact for clients on a day to day basis providing them with commercially focused legal advice
• Manage matters and time in a proactive and flexible way, including leading on larger complex matters
• Develop a deep understanding of our clients' commercial drivers
• Engage with, maintain and lead on existing client relationships
• Engage with other departments across DAC Beachcroft to ensure a consistent and joined up approach to delivery of client services

Associate/Senior Associate – Corporate

• Handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work acting for a variety of clients, which may include work for NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, MDU, independent providers, and medical malpractice insurers.
• Drafting legal documents, conducting face to face negotiations and mediation of claims, preparing cases for and adhering to court deadlines.
• Engaging in direct client care, acting as first and primary contact for clients on a day to day basis, providing them with commercially focused legal advice, and adhering to their protocols and processes.
• Making an appropriate contribution to non-fee-earning activity. You will be encouraged to participate in knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, writing articles for publication both for in-house and external publications, and business development.

Solicitor – Clinical Risk

• Day to day handling of a case load of complex paying party claims each of at least £100,000 claimed value
• Draft points of dispute and provide legal advice on likely assessed outcomes relating to complex paying party claims
• Supporting the Legal Director of the complex (paying party) team with operations and delivery of the complex (paying party) service
• Acting as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience
• Ensuring full compliance with clients' SLAs and DAC Beachcroft's internal protocols
• Assume responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on own caseload, including accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and information
• Ensure strict and ongoing adherence to benchmark standards in all work undertaken.

• To hit, maintain and apply a consistent approach to all individual targets of chargeable time, financial performance, realisation rates, settlement rates and average claim spend.

• Direct Supervision and Management of a team of handlers who will have responsibility for volume pre litigated and litigated cases.
• Through effective supervision and support of lawyers, to be accountable & responsible for the following:
• Technical supervision of claims
• Delivery of Day one training and ongoing training in line with Motor Injury induction process.
• All interim and performance reviews, including probation reviews

• Your case load will be made up of industrial disease claims including NIHL, HAVS, and asbestos related conditions. You will also assist our more senior lawyers on more complex disease cases.
• You will work for a mixture of insurer clients and self-insured companies which instruct us directly.
• You will undergo a full training programme at a level relevant to your experience.
• You shall exercise full compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols on billing and credit control and demonstrate a high level of financial management in respect of own files.
• Support marketing and business development activity within the team. This will include meeting clients, attending training sessions and marketing events.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions, reading appropriate publications and where necessary exceeding Law Society CPD requirements.
