About the role
- Design and build foundational product capabilities, including architecting the frontend, creating scalable data integration systems, and implementing infrastructure for distributed price models.
- Operate across the entire stack, rapidly learning new technologies as needed.
- Own problems from start to finish, from initial scoping to user adoption.
- Engage directly with customers to deeply understand their needs and generate product vision.
- Work directly with the leadership team to design, build, and support the flagship price modeling product.
- Own key areas of product development and shape the product and company.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying production software systems.
- Strong mission alignment with making the grid cleaner and more efficient.
- Mastery of one or more languages like Python, Go, Java, C++, or TypeScript.
- Demonstrated system design skills, with experience designing or maintaining complex software systems.
- Depth in at least one area of software development (e.g., infrastructure, backend, frontend).
- Excited to build products from 0 to 1 and take on work beyond the typical engineering scope, such as user engagement and product strategy.
- An independent and collaborative approach to software development.
- Strong communication skills.
- Preferred: A technical degree in a related field.
- Preferred: Demonstrated interest in the electric grid and/or energy transition.
- Preferred: Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
