About the role
- Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of systems and software to solve business problems
- Lead and deliver complex application development projects across the Technology and Digital Program (TDP) Group
- Design and deliver new functional ICT solutions and provide ongoing operational support
- Set the overall vision, strategy, architecture, and roadmap for enterprise-wide solutions and be accountable for end-to-end solution design
- Evaluate customer requirements and map them to business processes, functional and solution architecture
- Identify solution gaps and develop gap closure options, including ISV components or customer-specific development
- Document, present and discuss architecture and solution options, facilitate decision processes and support decision making
- Identify cross-process and cross-solution integration points and lead coordination across software and service components
- Lead end-to-end solution analysis, design, integration, co-existence and migration
- Act as single point of contact to orchestrate parties involved in large and complex projects/programs from an architecture/technical perspective
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, manage and lead change, and proactively share knowledge as the subject matter expert
- Oversee and prepare documentation and reports and present outcomes to stakeholders across multiple forums
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain Baseline security clearance
- Substantial experience in architecture design, particularly within large-scale government projects
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), microservices, infrastructure, data, SAP and enterprise integration
- Experience with tools such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Data warehouse; development and visualisation tools including Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio and DrawIO
- Strong knowledge and understanding of frameworks, legislation, policies, procedures and information management requirements relevant to the nominated domain
- Strong communication, negotiation and professional presentation skills
- Formal TOGAF Certification - optional
- Proven ability to articulate technical concepts, facilitate consensus on architectural strategies, and develop architecture documentation including HLA, Patterns and architecture option papers
- Experience/skills aligned with SFIA levels noted (Enterprise & business architecture, Solution architecture, Systems design, Consultancy, Innovation, Stakeholder relationship management, Software design, Emerging technology monitoring)
