About the role

  • The Transportation Analyst is responsible for analyzing all aspects and data of our transportation platforms and functions including Transportation Insight, LYTX, Fuelman, and fleet equipment assessments. Prepare long-term planning and budgets related to Fleet and Transportation requirements and process improvements through trend analysis. Data analysis of Transportation Insight platform to include branch shipping performance, missed savings opportunity review, and cost analysis. Data analysis of LYTX platform to include fleet performance, route optimization, and cost analysis. Identify regional and national trends pertaining to transportation; collect and analyze best practices and standards. Identify and implement transportation initiatives with support of Sonepar Transportation team and Irby Senior Leadership. Assist local management assessing current and future needs and incorporate into company-wide plans. Utilize national programs for maintenance, assist with negotiating and implementing service contracts, review vendor invoices, work with HR and Safety. Coordinate with Transportation Manager to ensure standards are implemented. Support accurate reporting of transportation information including IFTA, Fleetio, titles, taxes and registrations, and asset management. Data analysis of Fuelman program to include fuel cost review and fraud detection. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Suite – including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and Teams. Ability to create reports and maintain accurate records. Effectively communicate new ideas and collaborate between cross functional departments Very strong customer orientation, service awareness and collaboration skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to identify challenges, evaluate alternative options, and drive timely and effective solutions. Must know when to seek help in resolving problems.
