About the role

  • Responsible for all aspects of Survey within marine construction projects including providing technical/operational expertise to the Operations Team
  • Collecting, processing and reporting of all surveys to both the operations team and the Admin team
  • Generate and review project survey requirements from completion to final approval
  • Assist the Project Manager in establishing, maintaining and performing administrative support for dredging project jobsites
  • Lead survey team and manage survey assets (Boat, Trailer, Sonar, etc.)
  • Develop project plan with project management
  • Capture and utilize survey data to advise/plan daily dredge plan
  • Act as the lead contact for clients on all survey matters
  • Collect and interpret data to aid current projects and provide bid team with production data for bidding process
  • Travel to project sites; 28/14 or 14/7 rotating schedule
  • Spend time onboard vessels and work in various environmental conditions

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in Survey, ideally hydrographic
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office desktop programs, especially MS Excel
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Hypack and/or other Survey software
  • Willingness and ability to spend time onboard the vessel going up and down staircases and vertical ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
  • Must meet “fit for duty” requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test)
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, type, and understand English in person and over the telephone
  • U.S. Passport, or ability to obtain (nice to have)
  • Valid TWIC (or ability to get one) (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of RMS 3.0 desirable
  • Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera P6 desirable
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification desirable
  • Ability to operate small marine vessels preferred
  • USACE CQC certification desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
