About the role
- Assure products, processes, and quality records conform to quality standards and the quality system
- Modify testing and methods of control, measurement, and inspection work instructions to ensure cost-effective product quality
- Provide statistical information for quality improvement and cost savings through data acquisition and analysis
- Investigate quality-related problems across departments to determine cause and implement corrective actions
- Perform internal quality audits, report findings, and recommend corrective actions
- Program CMM using Zeiss Calypso software
- Plan and perform process validation for customer projects (Gage R&R, DOE, IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Perform capability studies and analyze data to recommend actions to achieve acceptable Cpk
- Act as QA representative for sampling projects and present results to customers
- Make day-to-day product acceptability decisions and manage deviations from product specifications
- Provide input on quality to product development and recommend production improvements using continuous improvement techniques
- Respond to customer complaints and lead corrective actions
- Administer the company’s online SPC system: create CTQ standards, design data entry templates, troubleshoot errors, monitor database trends, and create statistical charts and reports
Requirements
- Four-year degree in engineering science or math with two years of experience as Quality Engineer (preferred)
- OR Two-year degree and minimum of two to five years’ experience as a Quality Engineer / Technician
- OR No degree and six plus years’ experience as a Quality Engineering / Quality Technician
- Experience with programming CMM – Zeiss Calypso software
- Experience planning and performing Gage R&R, DOE, IQ, OQ, PQ
- Experience performing capability studies and analyzing data to achieve acceptable Cpk
- Experience administering Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and creating CTQ standards
- Experience performing internal quality audits and reporting results
- Ability to investigate quality problems, recommend corrective actions, and implement QMS modifications
- Experience presenting results to customers and acting as QA representative on projects
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and production/process improvement techniques
