About the role
- Responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision for Product Teams to help ensure the system or Solution under development is fit for its intended purpose.
- Embrace a leadership role — contribute to the Vision and Roadmap, Value Stream Mapping workshops, and coach engineers in Technical Agility.
- Define, explore, and support enablers to evolve solution intent; work directly with Product teams and with customers and suppliers to ensure fitness for purpose.
- Enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps — advocate for and steer pipeline development and Release on Demand.
- Plan and develop the Architectural Roadmap/Plan; participate in planning, pre-/post-PI planning, system and solution demos, and Inspect and Adapt events.
- Establish critical solution-level NFRs; provide oversight to high-level and detailed design ensuring architecture, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Create and manage lifecycle of technical specifications; drive automation, reusability, and efficiency in build and deploy processes.
- Ensure completion of installation, configuration, upgrades, and migration across development, staging, and production in on-premises, virtual, remotely hosted, and cloud environments.
- Develop strong relationships to deliver business value using Business Relationship Management practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT on cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and platform engineering, with a focus on building and operating resilient systems.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), especially using Terraform in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Internal Developer Portal/Platform (e.g., Backstage, Port, Spacelift, Humanitec, or custom solutions) to enhance developer experience.
- Proven expertise in designing, provisioning, and managing infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or OCI — multi-cloud and hybrid experience is a plus.
- Solid experience with DevOps toolchains, including CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), artifact management (Artifactory or native cloud tools), and version control systems (GitHub and/or GitLab).
- Good understanding of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Linux/Windows system administration and strong knowledge of operating systems fundamentals, including package management, networking, security hardening, and performance tuning.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and experience designing secure, scalable build/deploy pipelines.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack — infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, and OS.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and collaborating with developers, SREs, and QA.
- Preferred: familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus); configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef/Salt); exposure to infrastructure governance, policy-as-code, and compliance automation; experience managing a team; cloud-native security best practices; Bachelor's degree or equivalent; strong communication and documentation skills.
