Design and oversee refrigeration and refrigeration control projects in the commercial refrigeration industry.
Evaluate system performance and implement upgrades or system replacements to reduce energy consumption and lower environmental impact.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to select and design systems that align with refrigerant regulations and corporate sustainability standards.
Train younger engineers on basic system designs and emerging technologies.
Effectively communicate design with clients, jurisdictions, and contractors.
Work in normal office environment and occasionally outside of a normal office; meet production schedules and budgets; may require overtime.
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum 3 years of experience in refrigeration design is required.
Or, An associate degree with minimum 5 years’ experience in refrigeration design who can show the applicability of the experience to the job description included.
Strong knowledge of various refrigeration systems (i.e. DX systems, pumped secondary designs, and CO2 transcritical booster configurations).
Strong knowledge of refrigeration control systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Excel.
Ability to effectively communicate design with clients, jurisdictions, and contractors.
Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, work under time constraints, long hours may be required; overtime (40+ hours) may be required.
