About the role
- Manage and mentor our EMs and TPM, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary operational partner to the CTO, taking full ownership of the engineering organization’s health and delivery.
- Define and track the "meta-metrics" of the team.
- Act as a high-level individual contributor for internal engineering tooling.
- Design and ship the set of tools, AI workflows, and automated safeguards that allow our engineers to move with the speed and impact of a team triple that size.
- Partner with our TPM, Product, and Customer Success to align the engineering roadmap with business outcomes, ensuring we are always working on the highest-leverage tasks.
Requirements
- You have experience leading engineering teams (ideally 15-30+ people) through growth and evolution.
- You have an insatiable need to understand how things work and, more importantly, how they could work better.
- You are an active practitioner of AI-assisted development (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, LLMs) and have opinions on how to integrate these tools into a professional SDLC in an intentional manner.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You have deep experience with distributed systems (Celery, Redis, MySQL) and know how to maintain system health while moving fast.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering organizations within SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA environments. You understand how to maintain a high-velocity shipping culture while meeting strict audit and security requirements.
Benefits
- We provide 100% covered employee medical, dental, and vision insurance options, including FSA/HSA options plus free memberships to OneMedical, Teladoc, and Talkspace.
- Our flexible paid vacation and sick/mental health time guidelines help you get the time and space you need.
- We offer stock options to all full-time employees of Cube, as we want you to be connected to the success of the company.
- We offer 12 weeks of 100% paid parental leave for the birthing parent.
- We offer each Cuber a quarterly learning budget to spend on books, classes, or events that support your development.
- You’ll be joining an experienced team of tech startup leaders who are eager to work with you and provide support and mentorship!
- You’ll work for a company that our customers are truly excited about!
