About the role

Design, develop, and maintain z/OS Connect APIs to expose mainframe services for integration with modern applications\n
Collaborate with Java and Oracle developers to ensure seamless orchestration between legacy and modernized components\n
Support the incremental migration of mainframe functionality to cloud-native services using containerized architectures\n
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives\n
Ensure all integration solutions comply with DoD cybersecurity standards, including Zero Trust and RMF\n
Assist in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization of mainframe API services\n
Document integration processes, data mappings, and interface specifications\n
Support testing, deployment, and configuration management activities in a DevSecOps pipeline

Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance\n
5+ years of experience in mainframe development and integration\n
Strong hands-on experience with z/OS Connect EE, including API creation and service mapping\n
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 on z/OS\n
Experience with RESTful API design and JSON/XML data formats\n
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices\n
Understand secure software development principles and DoD cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, Zero Trust)\n
Experience working in hybrid environments integrating legacy systems with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)\n
Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving\n
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs\n
Strong organizational and time-management skills\n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n
