About the role
- Analyze the current IAM infrastructure, identify duplication patterns, and define opportunities for automation and standardization
- Build and enhance scripts to migrate IAM resources under Terraform management, ensuring reliability, compliance, and auditability
- Integrate Terraform-managed IAM configurations into CI/CD pipelines with appropriate validation, risk mitigation, and rollback mechanisms
- Design and implement proof-of-concept solutions for deduplication and optimization of IAM resources
- Optimize performance and scalability of automation scripts, develop comprehensive runbooks, and document the end-to-end process
- Support knowledge transfer and help establish an ongoing framework for IAM management and support
Requirements
- 3–5+ years professional experience in DevOps/SRE/Platform roles
- Technical degree (CS/EE/Math) a strong plus; equivalent hands-on experience welcome
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (modules, state mgmt, imports, drift control, workspaces)
- CI/CD for Terraform (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins), code reviews, plan/apply gates, and change approvals
- Scripting for automation (Python and/or Bash)
- Git proficiency; code review best practices and clean PR hygiene
- Strong documentation habits (playbooks, runbooks) and collaborative Git workflow
- Self-starter in a startup environment; ownership mindset and bias to automate
- Nice-to-Haves: Experience developing deduplication or validation tools for IAM configurations
- Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, or Spacelift.
