About the role
- Develop new features and products and maintain and update enterprise products for the Zenput Core Platform.
- Build new customer-facing functionality and improve stability and scalability of Zenput across web and mobile.
- Work across full stack: frontend (Backbone, React, HTML5, JavaScript), hybrid mobile apps, Python/Django backend, MySQL and Mongo persistence.
- Own APIs, storage indexes, unit and integration tests, and work in legacy and greenfield codebases.
- Use the entire technology stack to develop web and mobile UIs, commenting and messaging, webhooks and APIs, and expand mobile capabilities.
- Contribute to and influence design and development decisions and technical architecture.
- Work in an agile/Scrum environment with tight feedback loops with customers, product, and quality teams.
- Maximize velocity and minimize risk using TDD/CI and DevOps best practices.
- Communicate with team using Jira, Slack, and Zoom; mentor teammates and participate in team culture.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and information in English, both verbally and in writing, with clarity and precision.
- Great communicator and an outstanding team player. Bias towards over-communicating and asking questions.
- Desire to be part of a team, need to understand and shape organizational culture, and deep belief that the only way for them to be successful as an individual is for the team to be successful.
- Deep, hands-on experience designing and operating software infrastructure.
- Curious and intentional about both mentorship and self-development
- CS/CIS/Systems Mentality
- Adoption of CI, DevOps principles, and a focus on quality
- A deep understanding about request life cycles, system architecture, and user behavior
- Strong understanding of software design fundamentals and algorithms
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools & principles
- MySQL/Postgres/RDBMS experience. (Just using ORM's doesn't count)
- Ability to design and implement the right technical solution for the right problem at the right time (i.e. you don't over-engineer, but you do thoroughly consider the constraints)
- Someone fun, interesting, and likes to build and hack. Not just software!
- Desire to mentor and level up people around you
- 5+ years of relevant (~full stack / web) work experience
- Specific experience with our tech (React, Django, Javascript, Python, NoSQL, Mobile Development, AWS)
- Experience working remotely
- Experience with DevOps
- Experience working with hardware (mobile devices, embedded hardware)
- Expertise in and experience developing enterprise products and web products at scale
- Experience with distributed systems, complex user interfaces, or other challenging engineering problems
- Open source contributions
