Conflicts Attorney

Analyst

• Conducts corporate research using internet and other research tools, based on notification of potential new representation, to confirm accuracy of party names and to identify corporate family affiliates for all practice groups.
• Enters and updates data in the firm’s conflicts database and conducts database searches to identify potential conflicts with matters already in system and generates conflicts reports for analysis by firm’s attorneys.
• Analyzes information provided with new matter requests for compliance with firm policies and applicable rules of professional responsibility.
• Reviews conflict of interest reports for new firm matters to confirm no potential conflicts problems or to identify conflicts problems in need of resolution.
• Assists with resolution strategies and outreach to impacted attorneys within the firm.
• Reviews engagement letters for new clients to ensure compliance with firm templates, as well as the inclusion of special language as needed.
• Reviews new matter scope communications to ensure compliance with firm policies and risk management concerns.
• Assists Conflicts Director, Manager and Assistant Manager with the training of new Conflicts Information Specialists and Conflicts Analysts, as well as ongoing training regarding procedures, process updates, and changes due to software changes, application changes, technical upgrades, and process improvements.
• Assists with issues associated with special projects, such as bankruptcies, lateral groups, or ethics walls.
• Participates in testing, development, and analytic activities associated with the Conflicts Department’s implementation and upgrade of electronic tools, software, applications, and new electronic processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Conflicts Analyst

Manager

• Directs daily billing activities including processing billing edits, issuing invoices and handling reporting requirements
• Aligns team resources for optimal service delivery, offering support and coverage as needed
• Assigns workload and supervises major billing projects
• Maintains compliance with client rates and e-billing requirements
• Collaborates with Collections, Accounts Payable, Conflicts, and E-Billing teams to resolve discrepancies
• Communicates with Billing Partners and external clients to respond to inquiries
• Conducts annual performance evaluations and provides mentoring
• Monitors periodic billing and e-billing status reports
• Partners with the Collections team to resolve unallocated cash balances

Assistant Manager, Billing

Billing Specialist

• Performs and manages complex billing arrangements for assigned attorneys or specific clients
• Ensures complex client invoices are prepared in compliance with firm policy, specific AFAs, and client billing guidelines
• Identifies billing issues and resolves as appropriate
• Prepares standard and ad hoc reports utilizing Excel, Elite, and other reporting tools

• Monitor and respond to security events including potential policy violations, malicious activity and insider threats.
• Analyze and escalate incidents appropriately, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Maintain and improve detection systems, including IDS, firewalls, endpoint protection, and phishing detection.
• Conduct comprehensive vulnerability scanning, detection, and remediation across the firm’s infrastructure, ensuring effective management and resolution of vulnerabilities.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, FISMA, etc.) and internal policies.
• Support and manage client audit requests, produce evidence, and respond to audit requirements.
• Track and periodically validate application and data authorizations.
• Develop and maintain technical and non-technical metrics to substantiate the firm’s information security program.
• Use statistical methods and tools to model normal and abnormal system behavior.
• Suggest improvements to detection criteria and security controls.
• Participate in projects to implement, upgrade, or modify security systems and processes, completing special projects and other duties as assigned by the Information Security Manager.

• Supervise docket staff and develop/implement docket procedures.
• Collaborate with attorneys and firm leadership to mitigate risk and maintain compliance.
• Ensure compliance with court rules and firm policies regarding docketing.
• Monitor and review the entry of litigation deadlines and related events.
• Respond to information requests from attorneys regarding docketed dates.
• Stay current with changes in court rules and procedures.
• Assist with development of department policies and procedures.

• Overseeing the firm’s docket operations, ensuring accurate and timely management of all litigation deadlines, court dates, and case milestones.

• Managing and supervising the litigation docket team, providing guidance and training.
• Establishing and maintaining docketing policies, procedures and best practices.
• Ensuring compliance with court rules, local procedures, and firm policies regarding docketing.
• Monitoring and reviewing the entry of litigation deadlines, court dates and related events into the firm’s docketing software.
• Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of docket data and reports distributed to attorneys and staff.
• Responding promptly and professionally to information requests from attorneys and professional staff regarding docketed dates, agency and court rules and procedures.
• Staying current with changes in court rules and procedures, updating processes as needed.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for litigation docketing issues and escalation.
• Assisting with the development of department policies and procedures and innovation related projects.
