About the role
- Oversee the loan process from initial application to close of file
- Partner with internal team members and external clients in qualifying and processing of loan files
- Complete Verbal Verification of Employment on assigned loans within 10 days of closing
- Order third party verifications such as appraisals, condo certs, title documents, flood certs, etc.
- Review obtained loan packages for signatures, dates, notary stamps, etc. prior to giving funding authority
- Partner with Loan Officer Assistant in retrieving, obtaining signatures and overnighting CEMA and CO-OP documents
- Oversee pipeline management to ensure files are accurately and efficiently processed within organizational deadlines
- Complete basic review of loan files to ensure necessary documentation and data fields in loan origination/processing system are complete and accurate
- Assist in reconciling final ALTA statements
- Process file once locked, submit to Underwriting for conditions and direct Loan Officer Assistants to properly order appropriate services for files
- Provide Branch Manager with regular updates and reporting on branch pipeline status
- Complete post consummation closing disclosures and issue refund checks
- Act as the liaison between the branch and corporate underwriting operations
- Work on special projects as necessary
Requirements
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years’ mortgage or lending experience in the capacity of an Underwriter, Processor or Originator
- Operations management experience, preferred
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory rules, laws, regulations, underwriting guidelines and statutes relevant to the mortgage industry
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ellie Mae Encompass experience, preferred
