About the role

  • Support month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance activities
  • Partner closely with the Assistant Controller, Controller, and cross-functional teams
  • Own key components of the month‑end and year‑end close (journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, financial analysis)
  • Coordinate close activities with the offshore team in India; requires availability at 8:00 AM ET as needed
  • Support tax and audit schedules, debt compliance, and cash‑related tasks
  • Identify and implement improvements to accelerate and strengthen the close
  • Partner cross-functionally with the FP&A team and department heads to analyze budget-to-actual variances and identify opportunities for cost optimization
  • Prepare and review financial statements—including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare regular assessments and reporting for management review, highlighting variances, financial trends, and other key metrics
  • Leverage ERP systems to extract, analyze, and validate financial data
  • Identify opportunities for accounting-related process automation and AI enhancement, including upgrades and implementation of new technologies where appropriate
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence
  • Contribute to developing and implementing firm-approved, AI-enabled solutions for clients in accordance with company policies on data protection, intellectual property, and professional standards
  • Stay informed about emerging AI tools and techniques and collaborate with firm leadership to identify compliant opportunities to enhance client solutions and internal processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate environment; prior experience in professional services (public accounting, management consulting, or advisory firm) is a plus.
  • ERP proficiency (any major ERP acceptable — not tied to Sage Intacct specifically).
  • Advanced Excel; intermediate Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and anomalies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and addressing client inquiries.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to proactively identify process inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort with AI: Demonstrated ability to responsibly explore and adopt firm-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Openness to learning and applying emerging technologies including AI and automation in alignment with firm policies and client standards.
