About the role

  • Responsible for securing renewals and upgrades from a segment of our portfolio of major donors
  • Develop and implement personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies for the segment of donors in your portfolio, including regular meetings, communication, events, and other engagement activities throughout the year
  • Design & implement tailored cultivation plans for assigned segment of the major donor portfolio, ensuring renewals, upgrades, and thoughtful stewardship
  • Own grant proposals and reporting for a segment of our major donor portfolio
  • Lead the development of 4-5 major gifts projects/campaigns over the year
  • Own travel and events strategy and planning for donor cultivation and stewardship in target markets
  • Own a healthy share of MG communications – developing compelling pitches, case statements, and donor facing materials tailored to individuals’ interests
  • Lead writing and submission of grant reports, proposals, and other required written materials for a segment of major donors
  • Lead major gifts prospecting work in collaboration with the internal team and our external consultants to identify, research, qualify, and help Indivisible’s leadership build relationships with new major gift donors and current donors who have the capacity to upgrade their gifts
  • Drive creative prospecting tactics to research, qualify, and engage new major donor prospects to expand Indivisible’s donor network
  • Help to identify new donor advisors and donor communities, and create strategies for building connections

Requirements

  • At least 7 years relevant experience in fundraising
  • at least 4 years experience cultivating and soliciting 4 and 5-figure gifts from individuals
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft concise, persuasive pitches
  • Previous experience fundraising in a fast-paced environment -- this could be in the non-profit or campaign space
  • Experience in planning and executing successful fundraising events, campaigns, and tactics
  • At least one cycle of campaign experience
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to think proactively and prioritize work
  • Strong communication skills (via phone, email, and video chat), both with colleagues and donors
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Ability to manage up to senior-level staff with confidence and good judgment
  • Alignment on the core values and strategy of Indivisible.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar donor database (desired)
  • Experience writing and submitting formal grant reports and proposals (desired)
  • Experience working across entities – 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC (desired)
