About the role
- Process payroll for clients of the firm, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages and salaries
- Review timekeeping records and work with clients on adjustments as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Prepare and file necessary payroll-related tax documents and reports
- Maintain and update payroll systems and records; troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize payroll systems and assist with development and implementation of payroll procedures
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports, conduct regular payroll audits, and reconcile payroll accounts
- Report to Payroll Manager; work in-office Monday through Friday
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, PayChex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
- Experience in a similar industry or with a similar-sized workforce
- Legal authorization to work in the US (applicant asked in application)
