About the role

  • Process payroll for clients of the firm, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages and salaries
  • Review timekeeping records and work with clients on adjustments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Prepare and file necessary payroll-related tax documents and reports
  • Maintain and update payroll systems and records; troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues and discrepancies
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize payroll systems and assist with development and implementation of payroll procedures
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, conduct regular payroll audits, and reconcile payroll accounts
  • Report to Payroll Manager; work in-office Monday through Friday

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, PayChex) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
  • Experience in a similar industry or with a similar-sized workforce
  • Legal authorization to work in the US (applicant asked in application)
