About the role

  • The intern will support the Leave of Absence (LOA) team in managing employee leave processes.
  • Responsibilities include drafting and sending leave-related communications, tracking documentation deadlines, following up on missing paperwork, and assisting with return-to-work coordination.
  • The intern will also help update employee leave status in ADP, apply PTO to timecards, and gather pay information for disability claims.
  • Assist with drafting and processing leave notices and termination letters, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Manage FedEx labels and documentation delivery for leave-related paperwork.
  • Send follow-up communications when required documentation has not been received.
  • Support return-to-work coordination by proactively requesting medical releases and confirming return dates for caregiver, military, and bonding leaves.
  • Help gather pay statements and last-day worked information for STD and LTD claims.
  • Apply PTO to timecards and update leave status in ADP.
  • Participate in a mini-process improvement project toward the end of the internship to suggest ways to make leave tracking, communications, or documentation workflows more efficient.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field (junior or senior standing preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and analyze financial information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
