About the role
- Produce content for newscasts and all digital platforms
- Coordinate with managers, directors, producers, editors, and on-air talent to ensure the broadcast meets quality standards
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise
- Maintain communication with team to ensure smooth execution of the broadcast
- Direct and TD live broadcasts on a Tricaster switcher with no automation
- Maintain the upkeep of production studio
- Oversee and direct content for all digital platforms
- Use Bitcentral for playback
- Edit all types of video needed for newscasts, special elements, and other productions, adjusting for various distribution platforms as necessary
- Operate the Signal Acquisition desk to receive feeds and live shots via all available paths
Requirements
- Live directing and/or switching experience and knowledge of switcher concepts
- Ability to sit and direct for long time periods, often hours at a time
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances
- Minimum of 2 years television news experience preferred
- Bilingual
