About the role
- Guide platform engineering best practices and oversee core platform and self-service tool development.
- Define and execute the platform vision, set priorities, and align initiatives with organizational goals addressing engineering pain points.
- Mentor and grow engineers and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Partner with developers and leadership teams to deliver value and drive adoption.
- Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency; drive automation and observability.
- Treat the platform as a product—focus on developer experience, gather feedback, and measure impact (e.g., adoption, DORA metrics).
Requirements
- Strong background in DevOps, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and modern software architecture.
- Deep Expertise with tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, LaunchDarkly, Terraform, Pulumi and Backstage.
- Proven experience helping to build and mentor high-performing engineering teams.
- Product-oriented mindset with ability to define strategy and prioritize features.
- Strong experience with Observability/Telemetry platforms to provide insight into both Infrastructure and Workloads.
- Strong Scripting Experience (Python Preferred).
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 10+ years in software/platform engineering, 3+ years in senior/principal roles.
- Experience with Microservice Development and Support.
- Experience delivering scalable developer platforms and productivity tools.
- Bachelor’s or master's in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience.
