About the role
- Define and communicate a clear, future-forward vision for CoreSite’s unified data and analytics architecture.
- Define data product strategy and lifecycle management.
- Align data strategy with enterprise goals, ensuring the platform supports operational efficiency, business intelligence, and digital transformation.
- Develop and enforce architectural guardrails, principles, and standards for data, API, and AI ecosystems.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies that advance CoreSite’s data-driven capabilities.
- Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, distributed, and secure data platforms.
- Architect modern systems that integrate data lakes, data warehouses, streaming/event-driven pipelines, and machine learning infrastructure.
- Lead the design of end-to-end data flows, ensuring reliability, consistency, and performance across all data domains.
- Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to create modular, loosely coupled data services.
- Ensure architecture supports hybrid cloud integration and elasticity (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Drive enterprise-wide adoption of data literacy and self-service analytics.
- Partner with product, engineering, DevOps, data science, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical architecture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing enterprise technology direction and investment.
- Facilitate architectural reviews and drive decision-making across multiple technical teams.
- Champion best practices for data integration, API design, and cross-platform interoperability.
- Establish enterprise data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance.
- Implement lifecycle management standards for master data, metadata, and reference data.
- Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation in data testing, deployment, and observability.
- Promote consistent use of data models, patterns, and architectural templates across business units.
- Build and mentor a team of data engineers and architects.
- Lead the Data Engineering practice, overseeing standards, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and architectural excellence aligned with CoreSite’s guiding principles.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of experience in software and data architecture, with at least 7–10 years focused on enterprise-scale data ecosystems.
- Proven record of designing and delivering data-intensive, cloud-native platforms.
- Expertise in Data Lakes (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake) and Data Warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), Modern ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration (Airflow, dbt, etc.)
- Domain-Driven Design, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Strong foundation in data modeling, metadata management, and data governance.
- Experience driving architecture reviews, defining standards, and influencing at the enterprise level.
- Deep understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, including Salesforce Data Cloud, Tableau, and MuleSoft. (Preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Framework (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS). (Preferred)
- Knowledge of AI/ML platforms, vector databases, and data privacy regulations. (Preferred)
- Demonstrated success in leading enterprise data modernization or cloud transformation initiatives. (Preferred)
