About the role
- Develop complete electrical design packages for Level 2 / DCFC EV charging installations, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, conduit and wiring plans, and load calculations.
- Conduct electrical load analysis and service capacity evaluations to determine utility upgrade requirements.
- Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and utility standards.
- Prepare permit-ready drawings and documentation for AHJ submissions.
- Conduct site walks to verify existing electrical infrastructure, panel capacity, grounding conditions, and charger placement feasibility.
- Coordinate with construction teams during installation to ensure design intent is followed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in electrical design
- Code Knowledge and familiarity with NEC
- Design and develop electrical power distribution systems using AutoCAD and ETAP software
- Create and review wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support project requirements
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to align project objectives and resolve technical issues
- Conduct site visits to oversee installation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Team collaboration skills are essential.
