About the role
- Develop a unified global messaging framework that reflects Copeland’s identity, values, and strategic priorities
- Create adaptable guidelines that ensure cultural, linguistic, and regulatory relevance while maintaining a consistent global narrative
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international, trade, and regional media to secure high-value coverage that elevates Copeland’s global reputation
- Lead proactive media engagement strategies, including briefings, interviews, and thought leadership opportunities for executives
- Coordinate global media outreach for major announcements and strategic initiatives to ensure visibility, accuracy, and alignment across markets
- Serve as the escalation point for regional media inquiries, ensuring consistency with global positioning and brand standards
- Develop and lead global crisis communication protocols, including early risk identification, scenario planning, and rapid response
- Collaborate with corporate and regional teams to deliver unified messaging during sensitive or high-risk situations
- Monitor global sentiment, media coverage, and emerging trends to proactively adjust messaging and maintain relevance
- Provide insights-driven reports to senior leadership highlighting trends, risks, and strategic opportunities
- Benchmark Copeland’s global reputation against industry peers and refine strategies to strengthen competitive positioning
- Recruit, develop, and retain top communications talent, ensuring the team has the capabilities to support global priorities
- Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team aligned with enterprise objectives, and provide ongoing coaching and development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in external communications, public relations, or media relations, with significant global exposure
- Proven track record leading communications for a multinational organization or complex, matrixed environment
- Demonstrated success building and managing relationships with top-tier global, trade, and regional media
- Experience developing and executing integrated media strategies that support enterprise-level priorities
- Strong crisis and issues-management experience, including rapid response and cross-functional coordination
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and message-development skills
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in fast-moving environments
