About the role
- Dispatch drivers for U.S. Domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines
- Prioritize time-sensitive cargo
- Work closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements
- Develop and maintain positive customer, contractor & company driver relationships
- Work directly with customers on the receipt and processing of transportation requests
- Utilize various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning and scheduling
- Handle dispatch with contractors, company drivers and partner carriers
- Track and trace shipments from pick-up through delivery to ensure accurate and up-to-date shipment information is being provided to customers
- Ensure problem resolution; including identifying issues, applying critical thinking to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions
- Responsible for accurate data capture and system entry
- Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, company drivers, partner carriers and team members
- Promote the DSV Road Transport brand
- Assist with new account start-ups
- Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations and compliance
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; logistics or transportation experience preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or a related operational role
- Experience coordinating domestic shipments, dispatching drivers, and tracking freight through delivery
- Familiarity with transportation systems or dispatch software and strong data entry skills
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance, or the ability to learn quickly
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
