About the role
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities of warehouse operations
- Manage operational staff and implement policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations
- Schedule warehouse personnel for shipping and receiving
- Direct daily operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory control
- Engage with productivity reports and manage labor hours
- Oversee warehouse scratch rates and out-of-stock issues
- Maintain warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance
- Coordinate with Warehouse Manager on safety programs compliance
- Foster a collaborative work environment
- Work closely with other departments for seamless operations
- Develop metrics to measure operational performance
- Use data-driven approaches to optimize processes
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management
- Supervisory or managerial responsibilities preferred
- Experience in the freight forwarding industry or related fields preferred
- Gateway and/or airline ground handling experience advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Deep knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices
- Knowledge of TSA and Customs & Border Protection regulations preferred
- Experience with Bonded Cargo, CFS / Bonded / FTZ knowledge preferred
- Fluent in English; bilingual proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is a plus
