Designer

• Prepare Electrical Shop, DFI, and DFMA drawings
• Provide quantity takeoff, bill of materials and schedules from BIM/3D models
• Create streamlined workflows throughout the duration of a project by collaborating with preconstruction and field operation teams
• Assist project team(s) with execution plans, quantity takeoffs, constructability coordination, requests for information (RFI) visualization and schedule phasing capabilities
• Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings, seeing all items through to completion
• Facilitate problem solving using technology and collaboration with project teams, both internal and external
• Provide onsite project engineering for BIM projects and oversee all field installation monitoring efficiency, accuracy, and changes
• Create 3D and 4D models, renderings and simulations for presentations, project pursuits, preconstruction and construction operation efforts
• Create and maintain training material alongside the learning and development team
• Research, test, and assist with implementation of new software and hardware
• Support companywide goals and initiatives by identifying continuous improvement areas; collaborate with management on proposed changes
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of VDC standards and best practices
• Compute and analyze metrics for management review; propose areas for improvement
• Provide technical support to project managers onsite and ensure all digital BIM documentation is current and available to the management team on or ahead of schedule
• Create virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling & VR/AR experiences
• Keep abreast of the latest software and technology

Virtual Design & Construction Engineer – Electrical

• Application of VDC technologies onsite with project teams
• Provide technological expertise on project sites for; drones, robotics, laser scanning, reality capture.
• Leverage 3D, 4D and 5D digital content and assets to assist in the design, management and implementation of VDC systems
• Ensure workflows are streamlined between all departments (i.e. preconstruction, field operations) involved in a project
• Collaborate with the learning and development team to lead VDC training sessions
• Test, plan and direct implementation of new software and hardware as approved by VDC leader; coordinate with stakeholders if needed
• Produce VDC estimates and cost analysis, as requested
• Propose improvement areas to support companywide strategic initiatives to VDC leader for review and implementation
• Ensure VDC standards and best practices are maintained in accordance with industry knowledge; manage updates as needed
• Analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement; propose solutions
• Participate in vendor, supplier and service provider negotiations
• Bolster the Company's reputation as an industry leader in operational excellence, innovative problem solving and continuous improvement in project delivery
• Participate in marketing and business development initiatives; promote VDC capabilities within the industry
• Present VDC capabilities to owners, architects, project teams, as requested
• Keep abreast of the latest software and technology; identify areas for improvement
• Mentor team members, including delegation of tasks/responsibilities for development; recommend disciplinary action when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Manage models: Maintain site models and logistic plans
• Handle RFIs & A/E design changes/updates. Track, evaluate, and help develop Trade/Construction models.
• Maintain consolidated Coordination models. Compile final As-Built models.
• Manage and perform VDC technology responsibilities that may include but are not limited to – Weekly drone flights and data processing Laser scanning and reality capture Robotic systems for layout Reality capture production programs
• Daily/Weekly QA walks comparing Model to actual build conditions. Log deviations
• Coordinate model updates with trades
• Work with project team on changes that must be reflected in model.
• Perform Project engineering duties such as submittals and trade management as directed.

Virtual Design & Construction Manager

• Model Development & Coordination
• Support development and coordination of VDC models with increasing independence, ensuring constructability and alignment with field conditions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior VDC staff as needed.
• Field & Project Team Support
• Provide proactive field support including execution plans, quantity takeoffs, constructability coordination, visualizations, schedule phasing, logistics planning, LiDAR scanning, 360 photo documentation, and drone operations.
• Maintain a consistent presence onsite or in-office to identify issues and offer VDC-based solutions.
• VDC Tools & Workflow Application
• Apply VDC tools (3D, 4D, and 5D) to improve project workflows and coordination.
• Create and maintain models, renderings, and simulations to support planning and communication.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose practical improvements.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Work directly with project teams to implement VDC workflows, build relationships, and communicate effectively with field and office personnel.
