About the role
- Build and maintain client relationships to achieve long-term client retention; open lines of communication, visit accounts, implement changes based on feedback, and maintain client portfolios.
- Perform inspections on fleet, safety, machines, equipment and change machines to ensure company standards; ensure proper handling of perishable food items, cleanliness, merchandising, plan-o-gram integrity, and policy compliance; review service frequencies and schedule routes to improve productivity.
- Support business development: client presentations, grand openings, trade shows, pro forma development, proposal design; meet objectives for revenue, COGs, Labor, and ROA; coordinate installations, merchandising, promotional activities; analyze financial reports for profitability and revenue opportunities.
- Team management: define and appraise expectations and SOPs; recruit, train, and develop team members; maintain a safe professional work environment; handle discipline; act as working manager; plan, organize and delegate; staff routes and oversee operational timelines and labor targets; adhere to collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, marketing or supply chain management (Equivalent work experience in the industry acceptable).
- Prior sales experience required, with demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Experience in a route based business strongly preferred.
- Comfortable in a union environment.
