About the role

  • Design and build the platform components that enable the development of AI agents;
  • Define standards, templates, and guardrails that ensure quality and compliance in AI applications;
  • Create abstractions that hide complexity — product teams should be able to build agents without being AI experts;
  • Collaborate with product squads to understand needs and evolve the platform based on real use cases;
  • Participate in build-vs-buy decisions, evaluating vendor solutions versus in-house options to determine the best fit for the problem;
  • Act as an internal technical consultant, mentoring teams on implementing AI engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: More than 6 years building and maintaining complex (full-stack) production applications;
  • Generative AI Expertise: Hands-on experience implementing flows with LLMs (RAG, agents, and assistants), with a deep understanding of the transition between deterministic code and probabilistic systems;
  • Platform Mindset: Cares about the consumers of what you build, not just the implementation;
  • Accountability and Ownership: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and defining new standards while building; operates autonomously to anticipate risks and proactively share status to ensure alignment of deliveries;
  • Communication and Influence: Ability to move between deep technical discussions and translate concepts for non-technical stakeholders;
  • Critical Judgment: Able to identify when a framework adds value and when it introduces unnecessary complexity to the architecture;
  • Autonomy: Ability to prioritize tasks, make well-founded decisions, and know when to escalate risks or blockers.
