About the role
- Oversee the full lifecycle of tolling system field operations, from equipment installation to ongoing maintenance and system readiness.
- Direct day-to-day field installation activities for tolling and ITS systems, including gantry equipment, roadside cabinets, lane equipment, vehicle detection systems, and more.
- Supervise field crews, technicians, and subcontractors performing installation work.
- Lead preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for tolling infrastructure and associated field systems.
- Assign and oversee maintenance tasks for technicians and service personnel.
- Support diagnostics and repair of tolling field devices, communications equipment, power systems, and related infrastructure.
- Support field verification, device checkout, and readiness activities prior to formal testing.
- Enforce field safety procedures and compliance with standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, construction management, transportation systems, or related field; equivalent field experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of experience in field installation, maintenance, or operations for tolling, ITS, transportation technology, or related infrastructure systems.
- Experience supervising field personnel, technicians, or subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of tolling roadside systems, communications networks, field power systems, and device integration.
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs in operational environments.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and installation procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of field safety practices and roadway work zone requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance or service reporting tools.
- Able to work nights, weekends, and emergency callouts.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around live traffic with proper safety controls.
- Able to lift equipment, access roadside cabinets, climb ladders, and work at gantries or technical rooms.
