About the role
- Responsible for the overall direction, planning, coordination, implementation, execution and management of one-to-many medium projects, several large projects, and/or complex projects
- Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced Project Managers / Project Coordinators
- Majority of time (70%) may be in customer facing activities
- Focused on project management activities in the early phases (pre-sales and early post-sales) in large scale engagements
- Contribute to Project Management Office strategy planning, including the development and implementation of standards jointly with the standards assurance team
- Facilitate project forensics to identify and solve systemic issues on existing strategic accounts
- Partner with customers and internal business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values
- Lead the planning and implementation of project(s) throughout the project lifecycle, initiation through closure
- Oversee project scope, goals and deliverables internally and externally
- Oversee and develop a project task list (tracker), risk/issue/action, project contacts and a full-scale project plan as required
- Manage project budget, resource allocation, project trackers and timelines
- Track and advise on project deliverables and tasks
- Own and resolve any issues that arise during the project and drive risk mitigation
- Drive team accountability for project results of staying on-budget and on-schedule
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about project scope, tasks, deliverables, resources, schedules and budgets
- Identify resources required to fulfill project delivery
- Oversee all products and corresponding issues are coordinated with customer and Computacenter United States Inc Sales and Engineering teams
- Provide status reporting throughout the project to stakeholders on progress against project schedule and any issues and their mitigations
- Ensure all project team timecards, expense reports, status reports, issue documentation, and project documentation are entered and updated in a timely fashion
- Perform invoicing and project closure functions including sending and following up on Customer Satisfaction Surveys
- Mentor those around them in aspects of leadership, methodology, tools, people skills, and navigating difficult customer environments.
- Conduct mid-project checks and after-action meetings for continual improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in Project Management within the IT industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- Smartsheet proficiency is a plus
- PMP and/or PRINCE2 certification is a plus
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Expert knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Expert knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Direct work experience in project management capacity
- Proven ability to motivate and build strong teams
- Experience coaching and mentoring
- Excellent customer interfacing skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven experience in effective meeting facilitation
- Proven experience in people management
- Proven experience in issue & risk management
- Proven ability to multi-task, stay organized, and work efficiently
- Proven ability to work independently, as well as with peers
- Proven ability to problem solve and perform analysis
- Proficient in project management software
