About the role

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' presenting issues, develop a treatment plan to address identified problems, and facilitate referrals to ongoing treatment and/or community resources when clinically appropriate
  • Provide eight 45-minute client sessions per day (60-minute appointment blocks total, including 15 minutes allocated for documentation)
  • Work 20 hours per week and be available for occasional evening and/or weekend appointments
  • Use brief, solution-focused interventions to address clients' presenting concerns
  • Ensure the safety of clients at risk of self-harm or suicide
  • Ensure that all clients are appropriately referred to ongoing care, when clinically indicated, using their health insurance and/or community resources
  • Maintain documentation of all client contacts in the ComPsych system in accordance with established procedures
  • Continuously develop professional knowledge by staying current with telehealth trends, effective treatment modalities, and evidence-based interventions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and French (Canadian) required
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical counseling experience required
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology required
  • Independent clinical practice license required in British Columbia
  • Experience in direct clinical services and solution-focused therapy
  • Knowledge of treatment issues and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services
  • Excellent communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and sound clinical judgment
  • Responsive, energetic, positive attitude, and professionalism, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and think critically
  • High-speed internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free workspace required
  • Ability to be recorded during trainings, meetings, and professional events
  • Ability to remain seated or standing at a desk for extended periods while working at a computer
