About the role

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of clients' presenting issues, develop a treatment plan to address identified problems, and facilitate referral to long-term treatment and/or community resources when clinically appropriate
  • Provide follow-up for 8 sessions per day, each with 45 minutes of client time (60 minutes total per session, including 15 minutes for documentation)
  • Work 20 hours per week and be available for occasional evening and/or weekend appointments
  • Use brief, solution-focused interventions to address clients' presenting problems
  • Ensure the safety of clients at risk of self-harm or suicide
  • Ensure all clients are appropriately referred to long-term care when clinically appropriate, using their health insurance plan and/or community resources
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all client contacts in the ComPsych system, in accordance with established procedures
  • Continuously develop professional knowledge by staying current with telehealth trends, effective treatment modalities, and evidence-based interventions
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and French (Canadian) required
  • Minimum of 3 years' clinical counseling experience required
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology required
  • Independent clinical license to practice in British Columbia required
  • Experience in direct clinical services and solution-focused therapy
  • Knowledge of EAP (Employee Assistance Program) treatment issues and services
  • Excellent communication skills, strong client-service orientation, and sound clinical judgment
  • Responsiveness, energy, a positive attitude, and professionalism, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and apply critical thinking
  • High-speed internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free workspace required
  • Ability to be video recorded during trainings, meetings, and professional events
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods while working at a computer
