About the role
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in compliance with regulatory requirements and GAAP standards
- Collaborate with the CFO and executive team to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with company goals
- Lead the accounting & finance team in managing day-to-day functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, forecasting, analysis, and reporting
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support operations and strategic investments
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
- Implement accounting & financial policies and procedures adhering to regulatory and GAAP standards
- Serve on the Asset Liability Management Committee, managing interest rate risk functions and continual development of ALM processes
- Develop and maintain organizational, departmental, and product profitability models
- Participate in projects and duties as needed, with a primary focus on stabilization, risk reduction, and process maturity
- Stay updated on innovative concepts within the credit union movement and financial services industry
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or similar years of experience or competency
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in progressively responsible financial roles, with a track record of success in complex organizations
- 7-10 years’ experience of asset/liability management, liquidity management, budgeting, accounting and financial analysis and reporting
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen
- Proven ability to establish discipline, accountability, and trust within finance functions
