About the role
- Oversee the procurement of medications, medical supplies, and pharmacy equipment
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring availability while minimizing excess stock
- Implement inventory management systems
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Supervise and train purchasing staff
- Work closely with pharmacy management, clinical staff, and other departments
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmacy purchasing, inventory management, or a related area
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, purchasing, and inventory management
- Excellent organization and time management
- Experience with pharmacy wholesale use
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Preference given to candidates with SureCost experience
