About the role
- Serve as the primary steward of engineering document management and CAD data ecosystem.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Autodesk Vault Professional, including ADMS Console, Vault Server, and client-side deployments.
- Design and manage vault structures: folder hierarchies, category schemas, lifecycle state definitions, and custom property mappings.
- Configure and enforce user roles, group permissions, and access controls within Vault.
- Monitor vault health, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate backup and disaster recovery procedures with IT.
- Manage Autodesk software licensing, deployment packages, and version upgrades across the design team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user Vault access, connectivity, and data integrity issues.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows for drawing release, revision control, approval routing, and transmittal package generation.
- Manage the full document lifecycle from creation through archiving, ensuring traceability and auditability of all revisions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, IT, and QA/QC leadership to continuously improve document management workflows and system performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive CAD and/or document management experience in an engineering consulting, EPC, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Autodesk Vault Professional administration experience, including ADMS Console, lifecycle configuration, category/property schema management, and user/role administration.
- Preferred - AS or BA Degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Proficiency with one or more Autodesk CAD platforms: AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Plant 3D, or Civil 3D — including understanding of how these tools integrate with Vault.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement document control workflows, revision control processes, and vault folder structures in a multi-user engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of engineering document control best practices and the ISO standards that govern them (ISO 9001 document control concepts; awareness of ISO 19650 is a plus but not required).
- Solid understanding of data security, access control principles, and file/version management in a PDM/PLM environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable working within SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms.
