About the role
- Own and evolve key areas of the member digital experience, improving retirement planning and forecasting tools, contribution set up and investment selection, and product-led growth initiatives
- Develop deep empathy for Canadians saving for retirement through continuous discovery and regular interactions with clients and client facing teams
- Build client confidence in their retirement plan and in Common Wealth through guided, empathetic, straightforward and trustworthy experiences
- Define clear problems, outcomes, and success metrics across the full retirement journey—from a member’s first contribution to their last retirement paycheque
- Partner closely with engineering and design to test, ship, and iterate on high-quality solutions
- Collaborate cross functionally with financial planning, client service, sales, and external partners (e.g. group retirement advisors, investment managers, and annuity providers)
- Identify thoughtful applications of AI
- Contribute to a strong product culture focused on learning, efficiency, quality, and client impact
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager (or equivalent product ownership role), ideally in a technology-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes, make decisions with incomplete information, and ship high-quality products within engineering and regulatory constraints
- Strong product discovery skills, including client research, problem framing, and outcome definition
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, and business stakeholders
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a client-centric mindset
- Collaborative approach and comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Strong interest in personal finance, economics, and/or fintech, with curiosity about how Canadians save for and transition into retirement
- Experience working in or adjacent to financial services, such as fintech, wealth management, insurance, pensions, or benefits administration
- Familiarity with the Canadian retirement landscape, including group retirement plans, RRSPs, TFSAs, LIRAs, or decumulation strategies
- Education or qualifications relevant to the group retirement space, such as: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field
- CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) or progress toward CFP designation
- CIM® (Chartered Investment Manager) or IFC (Investment Funds in Canada)
- Experience working with or alongside group retirement advisors or financial planners
- Exposure to regulated product environments and collaborating with compliance or legal teams
- Interest in applying technology (including AI) to deliver guided, trustworthy financial experiences
