About the role
- Support the daily functions of Colonial Electric Supply’s HR department including payroll support, talent acquisition support and general HR functions while enforcing & supporting company policies and practices.
- Cross functional ADP Human Resources Management is a requirement.
- Payroll and Benefits support who serves as a back up to the HR Generalist.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory internal processes.
- Assists talent acquisition with recruiting processes, prior experience is a plus.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate qualified staff.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1-3 years HR experience, preferably in a multi-location, service based organization.
- SHRM - Certified Professional a plus.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Google Workspace or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
