About the role
- Design and implement next generation core FinTech systems that power Coinbase
- Process and record fund movements across crypto, fiat and internal wallet and manage user assets (portfolio performance, tax optimizations)
- Participate in redesigning foundational fund-movements architecture for scale and complexity
- Interact with stakeholders across multiple organizations that build Coinbase products or are responsible for financial operations
- Participate in shaping the strategy and execution path of FinHub
- Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables using technical expertise
- Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards
- Write high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs
Requirements
- 12 + years of experience in backend software engineering using Golang or similar languages
- Domain expertise in FinTech and / or trading
- Proven track record of delivering impactful solutions that power significant fund flows
- Designed, built, scaled and maintained high throughput and low latency production services
- Experience in architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
- Strong technical knowledge of building distributed systems that process massive scale
- Solid communication skills, ability to communicate to stakeholders with various technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Relentless drive to set and perseverance to achieve ambitious goals
- Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together
- (Nice to have) Practical experience of building ledgering or trading systems at large scale
- (Nice to have) Experience both in startups and large enterprises
- (Nice to have) Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity (Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps)
