• Supports insurance of compliance with global environmental regulations including RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Waste Framework Directive (WFD), PFAS, Prop 65, and TSCA.
• Prepare and submit FDA/CDRH reports for new products, product modifications, and manufacturing location changes.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments covering strategic, financial, geopolitical, capacity, logistics, cybersecurity, and regulatory risks.
• Compile, validate, and submit the annual FDA report covering applicable Coherent products worldwide.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to develop and execute risk mitigation and business continuity plans.

• Manage P&L and Financial Performance – 60%
• Lead product line strategy in alignment with company vision and growth objectives; drive revenue growth of new and existing products.
• Collaborate across Coherent to drive vertical integration and product offering expansion.
• Develop on an annual basis, product line goals and strategies, based on relevant market and business data. Drive the actions to achieve the annual goals and strategies.
• Review/estimate product line TAM/SAM on an annual basis. Be the resident expert in the competitive landscape and the strengths and weaknesses of the competitors.
• Participate in the 5-year planning process, reviewing and setting revenue and profitability targets.
• Develop long-term roadmaps, balancing current product needs with future market opportunities.
• Create and present business cases for major investments, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic goals.
• Define product requirements and features for the product line, connecting customer needs to competitive advantages.
• Drive product engineering teams to design and develop manufacturable standard and customized products to achieve market share leadership and meet revenue and profit goals.
• Prepare and present revenue and gross margin forecasts and capacity planning.
• Define capacity needs and where necessary, work with Operations on capacity expansion. Provide the business case inputs for any capital expense needs.
• Serve as the executive voice of the product, influencing stakeholders and shaping organizational priorities.
• Mentor and coach Associate and Mid-Level Product Managers, fostering skill development and career progression.
• Continuously evaluate product and portfolio performance using financial metrics (revenue, gross margin) and customer data. This may include defining and driving cost reductions activities.
• Drive executive-level presentations, storytelling, and data-driven decision-making.
• Oversee full product lifecycle management, adapting strategies to evolving markets and technologies.
• Partner with engineering, R&D, marketing, operations, and sales to deliver cohesive and differentiated product offerings.
• Collaborate with R&D to define and develop the next generation of product designs and process capabilities. Manage the investment, including ensuring periodic gate reviews, with reviews of the business case and any changes in the competitive landscape.
• Monitor competitive landscapes and develop mitigation and/or response plans as necessary.
• Define marketing needs and strategies for attainment.
• Responsible for orchestrating product launches or product releases.
• Develop and manage strong business/technical relationships at customers
• Drive sales teams to maximize bookings and revenues for your products
• Review customer requirements and work with Sales/marketing/R&D/Operations teams on winning proposals, including specifications and pricing.
• Provide sales with customer communications messages and strategies relevant to the product line.
• Drive the engineering team to provide customers outstanding technical support, leading to repeat business and new bookings at the expense of our competitors.
• Monitor and coordinate order fulfillment processes to meet cost, lead-time, on-time delivery, volumes, quality and margin objectives. In case of constraints or issues, escalate and drive mitigation actions with other members of the team.

Product Manager – Director

Engineer

• Design and model backside-emitting VCSEL structures optimized for 1060 nm emission
• Develop and simulate photonic crystal cavity structures to enhance light–graphene interaction
• Collaborate with Graphenea on graphene deposition and doping strategies
• Work with Coherent’s Sherman facility to coordinate deposition, patterning, and etching processes
• Perform electrical efficiency and high-speed modulation testing of graphene-based VCSELs
• Maintain detailed experiment logs, test reports, and contribute to patent filings and publications

Photonics Engineer

• Own the relationships with the Company’s global TP advisors for the annual US and OECD TP studies, local files (where required), competent authority processes, any local audit TP assistance, and the corresponding budget.
• Oversee and/or help prepare transfer pricing documentation for the US and international markets, including assessing the arm's length nature of intercompany charges and other transactions.
• Coordinate and provide advice with business units on any operational-lead changes to supply chain flows.
• Analyze business units financial data, prepare or review calculations and documentation related to transfer pricing in support of tax accounting requirements.
• Oversee or provide any one-time TP adjustments to the business units at year end for the Company, when necessary.
• Prepare or review the headquarters charges and any profit-split calculations for the Company.
• Prepare or review the various components of tax adjustment information for US tax compliance as well as summarizing data associated with BEAT transactions.
• Prepare the annual update to the Master file for the Company.
• Coordinate with the Legal Dept on preparation and/or review intercompany agreements, where necessary.
• Coordinate and provide the Company’s external auditor with any transfer pricing documentation and information requested at year end.
• Partner with and build positive relationships across the business, the finance organization and the different functional teams within the Tax Dept.
• Identify transfer pricing risks and opportunities and provide practical, business-focused solutions.
• Assist with the responses to global tax audits that involve transfer pricing, including collecting necessary data and responding to information requests from tax authorities.
• Provide technical guidance and review work for accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze and document tax planning projects involving transfer pricing, including intercompany pricing reviews, especially focused on intellectual property, intercompany financing, and intercompany services, etc.
• Contribute to talent development, performance evaluations, and training initiatives.
