About the role
- Develop and implement internal communications strategies that align with the organization's goals and values
- Partner with executive teams, human resources, and team leads to develop clear, compelling messaging, materials, and event content around priorities, organizational changes, and business results
- Design and execute internal forums like all-team meetings, company-wide offsites, team updates, and news roundups
- Co-design principles and practices for how we use internal communications channels and how employees can engage with and share stories across the company
- Cultivate and manage channels for timely, relevant information – including Slack, email, blogs, and live formats – and experiment with new ones (video, audio, in-person)
- Collaborate across teams to highlight stories that link daily work to Cohere’s mission, and celebrate company progress and external representation by our spokespeople
- Use qualitative and quantitative research to propose communications strategies and tactics that resonate with our employee audience
- Oversee crisis internal communications strategies by preparing for and responding to internal issues, working closely with Corporate Communications, Human Resources, and the relevant leadership team to protect Cohere's internal culture and reputation
- Partner with external communications and marketing teams to ensure messaging consistency across internal and external channels
Requirements
- Have 5-7 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field – ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment
- Are an exceptional writer with a talent for distilling complex, cross-functional topics into simple, compelling narratives
- Have experience serving as a communications business partner or trusted advisor to senior leaders, executives, and people/human resources teams
- Are highly organized and process-driven, with strong project management skills and a bias for action
- Bring high levels of creativity to communications – in format, channel, and storytelling
- Are comfortable navigating organizational dynamics and building strong relationships across all levels
- Have experience planning and executing internal events such as all-hands meetings, off-sites, or town halls
- Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and know how to prioritize ruthlessly
