About the role
- The Senior Director, Payer Accounts is a field-based position responsible for managing a team of Account Directors focused on gaining and maintaining broad coverage and access for Cogent’s products.
- This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including regional payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), MACs and state Medicaid agencies.
- They will collaborate extensively with internal departments and functions to incorporate customer insights into pricing, contracting and market access strategies including Marketing, Sales, and Sales Operations, Patient Services, and Legal.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 10-12+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience with at least 8 in market access account management and/or leadership.
- Demonstrated success in engaging with US Payers, including PBMs, state Medicaid agencies etc.
- Strong abilities in communication and presentation skills.
- Skilled in strategic thinking, leadership negotiation and relationship management.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Success in gaining preferred formulary positioning for key products within targeted accounts.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management and team development ability along with ability to work collaboratively with peers and management.
- Launching of new product/start-up experience.
