About the role
- Own a defined regional market as the sole Regional Vice President of Business Development
- Prospect and drive business development via calls, emails, and networking to secure 10+ meetings/week with business owners
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to introduce Cogent’s Discovery Process and uncover profitability and efficiency opportunities
- Serve as market leader and brand ambassador engaging business owners and key stakeholders in the region
- Strategic pipeline ownership and collaboration with Cogent’s in-office business development team to maximize client-facing appointments
- Performance-driven leadership accountable for prospecting, converting, and driving revenue
- Close high-value deals and drive long-term client engagement through Cogent’s Lifecycle Program
Requirements
- 10+ years of executive-level, consultative B2B sales experience
- Proven hunter and expert prospector with a strong track record of engaging business owners and closing deals
- Autonomous, high-energy hunter who thrives in a competitive, performance-based environment
- Advanced CRM and software skills for proposals and presentations
- Can travel within their territory for in-person meetings (up to 75% overnight travel)
- Ability to secure 10+ meetings per week with business owners
- Ability to drive a minimum of 35 prospect touches per week and secure at least one Discovery commitment weekly
