About the role

  • Develops, revises, and maintains policy forms and endorsements for all CNA Specialty product lines, with emphasis on Financial Lines Cyber, E&O and Media products, and with the ability to support other segments as needed
  • Oversees product through its lifecycle to meet market demands, regulatory environment, and underwriting staff
  • Provides counsel to underwriters and product leaders on drafting policy forms and endorsements to meet objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Advises on coverage interpretations to assist Underwriting and Legal with external partner/customer issues
  • Reviews and approves product-related marketing material, risk management presentations and articles
  • Interfaces with Marketing, Compliance, Legal, and Communications as appropriate
  • Monitors state/federal legislative and regulatory activity and industry developments impacting product lines
  • Participates in insurance product-related training and onboarding of underwriters and other personnel
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor required and bar admission in a jurisdiction
  • Typically a minimum of seven years related work experience reflecting a combination of insurance product drafting, product development, and/or coverage
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance business including: product development, underwriting, claim, legal, and regulatory
  • In depth knowledge of insurance contracts (particularly Cyber, E&O and other Specialty insurance contracts), coverage, and regulatory issues
  • Ability to problem-solve and analyze coverage issues
  • Ability to resolve short term problems while supporting long-term objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills; ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other business related software systems
