About the role
- Performs underwriting analysis and documentation to determine acceptability of risk
- Handles endorsement requests within delegated authority
- Handles assigned renewal book and triages renewal applications/specs
- Works as a liaison to resolve issues within the branch
- Documents assigned files ensuring completeness, compliance, and quality
- Completes quote proposals and negotiates with external partners
- Expert on systems and workflows, serves as a resource to others
- Keeps current on line of business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations and trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation
- Strong time management, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks
- Strong capability to advise and coach others
- Demonstrated customer service experience
