About the role

  • Direct, coordinate, and implement all plant marketing activities
  • Lead marketing personnel in a professional manner towards achieving performance goals
  • Establish marketing goals, both financial and non-financial
  • Investigates new potential sources of consumers of scrap metal. Buys from retail, dealer, industrial customers, repair shops, demolition projects, clean-ups, etc
  • Maintains accurate records of all buying/sourcing and prospecting activities including closed sales and follow-up activities
  • Participates in a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, direct mail, email & networking
  • Responsible for sourcing and developing client relationships and referrals
  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards

Requirements

  • 6-8 years in a metal recycling facility or other related industry
  • Successful track record of generating new business
  • Prior experience with pricing & proposal models with the ability to "hedge" pricing
  • Experience selling into the metals distribution industry
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
  • Must be able to buy material at a margin and profit to support the plant's marketing goals
  • Customer Service focused and collaborative as appropriate with internal and external contacts with broad knowledge of marketing and sales practices
  • Demonstrate leadership and customer service consistent with CMC's Values.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and provide coaching, skills development, guidance and support to team members
  • Exceptional leadership and team building skills
