About the role
- Safely transport staff, clients, and cargo within Rwanda and other designated regions/locations
- Plan efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Ensure safety and security of cargo and passengers
- Assist with loading/unloading and handling cargo
- Operate lifting equipment according to CEVA SOPs and safety guidelines
- Load and offload containers following approved loading/offloading instructions
- Identify, position, and relocate containers for dispatch, verification, and clearance
- Support warehouse/ICD teams in handling client cargo and container movements
- Maintain orderly arrangement of the yard
- Allocate appropriate space for incoming and offloaded containers
- Create additional yard space when required
- Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip checks on vehicles and equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance on lifting equipment
- Report mechanical faults immediately and follow up for timely resolution
- Ensure servicing schedules are adhered to
- Follow all traffic laws and CEVA safety policies
- Maintain valid vehicle and equipment operation documents/licenses
- Complete logs, checklists, incident reports, and operational records accurately
- Uphold CEVA’s Code of Conduct and HSE standards (zero-accident/damage commitment)
- Provide excellent service to passengers, clients, and colleagues
- Communicate professionally and courteously
- Represent CEVA professionally at all times
- Performs any other duties that may from time to time be assigned by the line Manager and dotted supervisors
Requirements
- Valid Advanced Certificate of Education/Secondary School Education or equivalent
- Valid Rwanda driving license class (Category B, C, D, F)
- Certified Forklift Operator License
- Must have a clean criminal record
- Must be medically fit and able to operate heavy lifting equipment safely
- A certificate in occupational safety for equipment operations is desirable
- Additional technical training is an added advantage
- Training certifications in use and operation of lifting equipment
- A minimum of two (2) years of working experience in driving, lifting equipment operations preferably in the logistics industry
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read, write and understand national languages
- Load handling and maneuvering at height
- Good attention to detail with strong quality awareness
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to address operational challenges effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and strong team player

- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and industrial equipment
- Shift-based work schedule (day/night shifts depending on business needs)
