About the role
- Provide counsel to management and Human Resource professionals on labor and employment legal issues
- Facilitate legal training and manage outside counsel on employment litigation matters
- Day-to-day counseling on labor and employment law matters including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and NLRA compliance
- Review disciplinary actions and terminations with HR
- Programmatic legal and HR compliance training for Human Resources professionals and business operations teams
- Manage internal investigations as appropriate
Requirements
- Law degree and bar admission in Texas
- Minimum six (6) years of labor and employment law experience
- Preferred: Eight (8) to twelve (12) years of labor and employment experience
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain industry
- Strong analytical capabilities and judgment
- Excellent knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Experience handling union grievances and arbitrations
- Experience managing and completing complex litigation matters
