About the role

  • Provide counsel to management and Human Resource professionals on labor and employment legal issues
  • Facilitate legal training and manage outside counsel on employment litigation matters
  • Day-to-day counseling on labor and employment law matters including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and NLRA compliance
  • Review disciplinary actions and terminations with HR
  • Programmatic legal and HR compliance training for Human Resources professionals and business operations teams
  • Manage internal investigations as appropriate

Requirements

  • Law degree and bar admission in Texas
  • Minimum six (6) years of labor and employment law experience
  • Preferred: Eight (8) to twelve (12) years of labor and employment experience
  • Previous experience in logistics or supply chain industry
  • Strong analytical capabilities and judgment
  • Excellent knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Experience handling union grievances and arbitrations
  • Experience managing and completing complex litigation matters
