About the role

  • Lead Workers AI platform team building model scheduling and request routing
  • Use quantitative metrics to improve platform flexibility and performance
  • Design and implement distributed systems components (load balancing, scheduling, resource sharing)
  • Contribute technically across the stack (front-end to low-level inference code) using Rust and TypeScript
  • Lead and mentor a small, high-performing engineering team
  • Collaborate with Cloudflare’s internal container platform and infrastructure teams
  • Deliver projects with tight deadlines and short release cycles

Requirements

  • Experience leading high performing teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable with tight deadlines and short release cycles
  • Strong systems-level programming skills
  • Experience building large-scale distributed systems
  • Expert-level knowledge in a modern compiled language like Go, Rust or modern C++
  • Experience in load balancing, scheduling, and resource sharing for distributed systems
  • Familiarity with Rust and TypeScript and container platforms
  • Capable of high-level technical contributions as well as team leadership
