About the role
- Act as HR subject matter expert for local labour law, ensuring all people processes are executed in alignment with country-specific statutory requirements.
- Local compliance/employment policy & interpretation: Ensure all handbooks and policies are compliant with local employment laws. Act as the first point of contact when a "local nuance" is needed for a global policy. Conduct regular audits of people processes to mitigate legal risks and ensure we stay ahead of local legislative changes.
- Works Council Support: Prepare all necessary data, documentation, and reporting necessary for Works Council meetings in Germany and the Netherlands. Ensure the company strictly adheres to "Right to Information" timelines and other statutory obligations regarding employee representative bodies.
- In Germany in particular, acting as a central point of contact and partner with Talent Acquisition, HRBP, and managers to prepare the co-determination documents to ensure all hires and employees changes are captured, properly documented and approved by the Works Council in a timely manner.
- Advisory and Resolution: Support Senior Managers and Directors ensuring a high-touch, solutions-focused experience. You will handle complex queries that fall outside of People Ops Specialists scope, specifically those involving legal interpretation or unique individual circumstances.
- Manager Enablement: Supporting Regional HR strategies including developing training materials for managers on how to lead and manage international teams within the EMEA legal framework.
- Operational Excellence: Contribute to improving HR processes, documentation, and workflows.
- Stakeholder Management: Operate as a credible partner for HRBPs, Employee Relations (ER) and Legal teams. You will provide the operational 'how-to' for regional initiatives, ensuring that business goals are achieved without compromising local statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: You will have previous experience working as an HR Generalist (ideally multi-country within EMEA) and work in an international environment with advisory responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Works Council experience: in-depth knowledge of German labor law and being familiar with the German Works Constitution Act is a prerequisite for success in this position.
- Technical Depth: Advanced understanding of international employment and labor law and statutory requirements within EMEA.
- Analytical mindset with proven experience in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication skills with strong command of English and fluency in German with the ability to communicate with both Works Council and global teams.
- Organised, pragmatic, and people-focused.
- Experience using Workday and Zendeks or other HRIS tools
